Jazz was born on 4 November (her father was Satchmo). This is her at one week old.

The second to arrive was Night Owl whose name reflects his late birth. Here he is almost two months old.

Our last November baby was Stardust who was born on the 27th. She is almost two months old too. Very like Night Owl to look at isn't she?

    Title: Alpacas on Show, Eumundi
Our star young female, Nattaginni Saki, continued her run of shw success. She was awarded First in the Intermediate Fawn Female class at the Alpaca On Show event at Eumundi on 3 July 2010. She went on to receive the ribbon for being the Champion Intermediate Female.

Unfortunately Nattaginni Arafura is now in the same age group and accordingly had to be content with being second to Saki in their event.

We also took along one of our young males, Nattaginni Darth Vader. He was awarded Second in the Black Intermediate Male class.

In judging for the Supreme Champion, Saki was one of two alpacas called forward for the final selection. Saki missed out with the other alpaca, a beautiful black sire, being selected Supreme.

    Title: Stag Party
One morning in April we had a most unusual visitor. A stag jumped the fence into one of our alpaca paddocks.

He stayed for half an hour or so grazing then jumped back over the fence and disappeared into the trees.

This was particularly unusual because we have never before seen a deer anywhere on the farm or in the district.

    Title: Hail storm
On Saturday 25 October 2008 we were hit by a severe hail storm. The countryside looked as if there had been a snowfall. Holes were punched in alsynite roofing and the leaves were stripped from many trees and shrubs.

Our main concern was the animals. As a precaution we moved the female alpacas to a more protected paddock as it was very cold and they had been shorn only two weeks earlier.

All the alpacas survived the drama without any problems.
